Town of Edisto Beach Converting Bell Buoy to Public Park
See architect's concept of the Bell Buoy Park
The Town of Edisto Beach bought the Bell Buoy property on Big Bay Creek to preserve as a community park. The park is now in the design stages, but will be an authentic attraction for Edisto visitors to learn about the shrimping industry and have increased public access to Big Bay Creek. Plans include a restored shrimp boat display, a new boat dock, a fishing and crabbing dock, canoe and kayak docks, a widened public boat ramp, an observation tower, an open air market, and an outdoor amphitheater all for public recreational use.
